OT Timber Frames Ltd. is a leading provider of precision-engineered timber frame solutions, delivering high-quality structures and innovative prefabricated house systems. As our project portfolio grows, we’re looking for a passionate and skilled Timber Frame Designer to join our talented team.
Your Role:
As a Timber Frame Designer, you’ll be responsible for creating detailed designs and working drawings for both custom timber frame structures and prefabricated panel systems. Your work will directly support production and on-site assembly — helping turn architectural concepts into efficient, buildable realities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop timber frame structures and prefabricated panel systems.
- Create accurate 2D and 3D models, including layout plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and internal teams to ensure buildability and compliance with project specs.
- Translate client and architectural intent into production-ready documentation.
- Support the manufacturing and installation teams with clear, practical design outputs.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience in timber frame design, prefabrication, or structural detailing.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Dietrich’s, CADWORK, or similar).
- Solid understanding of timber construction methods and materials.
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
- Familiarity with North American building regulations and offsite construction standards.
- Experience designing solid timber structures and panelized systems.
- Knowledge of Dietrich’s, CADWORK or similar timber design platforms.
